Londoners Get More Rewards

5th March 2007

People living in London are the most likely to take advantage of credit card reward deals, according to a recently published report from a credit card company. The survey results show that of people living in London who have a credit card, more than 80% own a credit card that offers some form of rewards scheme.

Londoners spent or redeemed on average around £350 on rewards or cashback, where in contrast, people from the North of England redeemed far less at only £50 on average of loyalty rewards.

There are a large number of credit cards available offering a wide range of rewards, which include cashback, airline miles, hotel points, rewards vouchers or discounts on new cars. These reward or loyalty schemes are a good way for the user to be rewarded for every day spending using their reward credit card.

It is important to remember however that there is very little point in having a rewards credit card if you do not remember to redeem the rewards points, as not all loyalty points have an indefinite life and could expire before you get around to redeeming them. As always, read the small print of your card agreement.
