One In Ten People Use Credit Card Daily

Some 34 million Britons now have a credit card and more than three million of these people, around 1 in 10 of card holders, say they use it on a daily basis, according to a new survey conducted by high street bank Abbey.
According to the survey some 54% of people use their credit card at least once a week, but 35% of card holders claim that they use their credit card just once a month, with younger people most likely to fall into this category.
Shopping online is the most popular reason for using a credit card, with 61% of credit card holders saying that the regularly use their card to make purchases on the internet. Some 55% of people with a credit card regularly use their credit card to make purchases on the high street and 46% of people admit to using their card to pay for their weekly supermarket shop.
Almost 75% of those people surveyed said they regularly pay off the balance on their credit card in full, with some 57% of card holders saying they pay off their credit card balance every month.
