The UK credit card market is now showing signs of emerging from the credit crunch with renewed competition in the market emerging as 0% interest free introductory offers increase in length as the credit card companies start to fight once more to attract customers. Both 0% balance transfer offers and 0% on purchases offers are now available in the UK credit card market for longer periods than has historically been available.

The NatWest credit card now has a market leading balance transfer offer available with an introductory offer of 0% on balance transfers for 16 months, with a 2.9% handling fee, and an interest rate of a typical 16.9% APR variable and also comes with an introductory rate of 0% on purchases for 3 months from the date your account is opened.

The Tesco Clubcard credit card has a market leading introductory offer of 0% on purchases for 13 months, with an interest rate after the introductory period of a typical 16.9% APR variable. The Tesco card also comes with an introductory rate of 0% on balance transfers for 9 months from the date your account is opened, with a 2.9% handling fee.

There is no guarantee that these market leading introductory offers will stay around for very long, given the still uncertain outlook for the UK economy, so anyone looking for anew credit card with a strong balance transfer offer or an equally strong 0% on purchases offer should look to apply sooner rather than later.
