Barclaycard have reacted quickly to the new Nationwide credit card launched yesterday and have changed their Platinum credit card to now offer 0% for 18 months on balance transfers, with a 2.9% handling fee, and a typical 16.9% APR variable. The Barclaycard Platinum credit card is a Visa credit card and is available online.
This Barclaycard balance transfer introductory offer for 18 months is now the longest ever balance transfer offer available in the UK credit card market and the Barclaycard Platinum credit card also offers an introductory rate of 0% interest on purchases for 3 months from account opening.
The Barclaycard Platinum credit card has also extended the offer of £20 off your balance transfer fee when you apply to transfer £3,000 or more by 28th february 2011. The Barclaycard Platinum card comes with Barclaycard Freedom rewards programme where you can earn while you shop at participating retailers and also has contactless payment technology, a quick and easy way to pay for purchases of £15 or less.
The Barclaycard Platinum credit card is available online to UK residents who are aged over 21 years old, have a good credit history and who have a regular income of more than £20,000 per annum.
